Kung Fu is an ancient form of healing and fighting. Even though we learn numerous strikes and kicks as well as weapons forms,Kung Fu is actually an internal practice.
Training consists of Foundations, Empty Hands Forms, and Weapons Forms. Northern Shaolin Kung Fu is one of the most prominent traditional styles of Chinese martial arts. The northern styles emphasize long-range techniques; quick advances and retreats; wide stances; kicking and leaping techniques; whirling circular blocks; quickness and agility.
Lan Shou Quan or Arresting Hands Kung Fu is over four hundred years old and renown in the Tianjin area of China. In Lan Sou Quan, attack is defense. Lan Shou Quan uses attack to intercept the opponent’s attack by seizing the opponent and pulling him into a powerful strike.
Teacher Jason Brenner has been privileged to study Kung Fu for 19 years. He has worked hard to develop his skill to honor his teachers through his practice. He considers it a great blessing to pass along these skills to another generation of Martial Artists. Jason offers classes in hand and weapons forms in Ukiah California. All people ages 10 and over may become students.
All students ages 10 years and up are welcome on a pay what you can basis. Kung Fu increases Chi, helps develop focus, self esteem and self control. Besides regular weekly class, Jason offers occasional longer workshops and trips down to the Bay Area for intensives with his teacher, Sifu Scott Jenkins.
